extremely skinny models

Anorexia and bulimia are diseases most common among supermodels, singers and actresses, because they are always in the public eye and the stress of permanently looking slim finally ends up by leaving a mark on their body. But that doesn't mean that teenagers and young women worldwide are safe from them.
The same view was shared by the Mayor of Madrid, where fashion week is just about to begin. The Mayor asked the organizers of the event to turn down all the underweight models that come to the audition, because most women have a tendency to imitate what they see on the catwalk and are driven by an ardent desire to look like their favorite models.
Consequently, doctors will come and check the models before each of the shows and eliminate those that are considered too skinny. 'The restrictions could be quite a shock at the beginning, but I'm sure it's important as far as health is concerned', one of the organizers told Reuters today.
The designers that are always present at one of the biggest fashion events in the world say that the new rule can be easily classified as discrimination, both against the designer and against the too thin catwalk queens. 'I think it's outrageous, I understand they want to set this tone of healthy beautiful women, but what discrimination against the model and what about the freedom of the designer', Cathy Gould, a representative for New York's Elite modeling agency, said.
The drastic ban that 'premieres' in Madrid is very likely to become a common tradition at all fashion festivals. The Mayor of Milan also stated that they are already considering doing the same, if the modeling agencies put skinny and 'sick looking' models on the catwalk.
